An all-star cast including Colin Firth, Jude Law, Nicole Kidman, Laura Linney and Guy Pearce feature in this stirring drama about the complex friendship and transformative professional relationship between the world-renowned book editor Maxwell Perkins (Firth), who discovered F. Scott Fitzgerald and Ernest Hemingway, and the larger-than-life literary giant Thomas Wolfe (Law). Perkins collaborated with Wolfe on the first two of his four novels, “Look Homeward, Angel” and “Of Time and the River”. Their professional relationship lasted less than a decade, but its impact would resound on both men’s lives until their deaths. Based on the biography “Max Perkins: Editor of Genius” by Pulitzer Prize-winner A. Scott Berg, the film is set in 1929 New York and features Kidman as Aline Bernstein, a costume designer who shares a tumultuous relationship with Wolfe, and Linney as Louise Perkins, Max’s wife and a talented playwright. Pearce features as Fitzgerald, while Dominic West plays Hemingway.
