BUEI Talks: Nesting Sea Turtles by Dr. Mark Outerbridge

March 17, 2016 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm

Bermuda once had a thriving sea turtle nesting colony, however years of targeted hunting by humans caused this rookery to collapse. Dr. Mark Outerbridge, Wildlife Ecologist for the Department of Conservation Services, will present what is known about the history of sea turtle nesting on Bermuda’s beaches. He will also describe a number of sporadic, natural nesting events recorded during the past 25 years and will end with a short sea turtle nesting video. The audience will also be given the opportunity to participate in a beach monitoring programme.
